The Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs holds the institutional mandate over the Kuchi; the Afghan pastoralists.

His Excellency Abdul Karim Brahowie is the Minister of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs.

The Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs has established provincial and a national Kuchi shura.

In the provinces, all Kuchi tribes have one (or in certain cases two) representatives in the Provincial Kuchi Shura. This Provincial Shura is a mechanism for institutional representation of the Kuchi at provincial level. It is a body that can be used for consultation and planning at provincial level. The Provincial Kuchi Shura can be contacted through the provincial department of the Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs.

Each Provincial Kuchi has selected one delegate to the National Kuchi Shura, a body housed by the Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs. The head of the National Kuchi Shura is Mr. Ashraf Ahmadzai.

For all consultation and planning processes related to Kuchi, His Excellency Mr. Brahowie, his deputy minister Mr. Babrakzai, and the Head of the National Kuchi Shura Mr. Ashraf Ahmadzai, can be contacted at the Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs.

The Ministry of Frontiers and Tribal Affairs is located next to the Supreme Court, on the Airport road.
